Privacy policy
How Birdie Me handles personal information from visitors to this website and from people who use the service.
Who is responsible for your data
Birdie Me is a service from Birdie Portraits, a UK corporate photography team.
Birdie Portraits is the controller of the personal information described on this page: it decides how the information is used. Kilij Digital is its processor and handles the information only on Birdie Portraits' instructions.
To ask about your data, email jon@birdieme.app or use the contact page, and say that your message is about personal data.
What we collect on this website
When you send the demo form, we keep your name, work email address, firm, team size and message. We use them only to reply to your request and to arrange a demo. If email forwarding is set up, your request is also sent to Birdie Portraits by email through Microsoft's email service.
We keep your request only as long as we need it to reply and arrange the demo you asked for.
The website stores your cookie choice in your browser. Analytics run only if you allow them; see the cookie policy.
Photos and headshots in the Birdie Me service
People invited by their firm upload photos to make headshots. Birdie Me records each person's consent with the wording they agreed to. The photos are used to make and deliver their headshots.
Photos, headshots and job records are stored in London, in the Amazon Web Services eu-west-2 region. They are kept only as long as they are needed to make and deliver the headshots, and anyone can ask for theirs to be deleted.
Who processes data for us
Amazon Web Services stores data in London (eu-west-2). Replicate processes images to make cut-outs and AI headshots. When Birdie Me moves a real photo onto a background, the uploaded photo is deleted from Replicate when the job finishes.
Kilij Digital builds, hosts and runs the Birdie Me service for Birdie Portraits.
Resend sends the service's emails, such as invitations to upload photos, from Ireland.
Microsoft holds Kilij Digital's backup copies on OneDrive.
Your rights and how to complain
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email jon@birdieme.app or use the contact page to make a request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
