How Birdie Me AI headshots work for your staff
Remote headshots for employees work in five steps, from an email invitation to a ZIP of finished files. Nobody visits a studio, and a photographer at Birdie Portraits reviews every image.
Remote headshots for employees, step by step
The steps are the same at head office, in a regional office and at home.
- An invitation by name and email. The link belongs to that person and opens in a browser. A group link on your intranet suits a large first round.
- Photos and a background. Each person agrees to how their photos will be used, uploads a few recent photos and chooses a background from your firm's set. iPhone photos are accepted as they are.
- Headshots made or placed. An AI image model makes a set of poses on a chosen background. Or Birdie Me places a real photo on your plate.
- A photographer's check. Birdie Portraits approves, redoes or rejects every frame, and asks for new photos where they are needed.
- A contact sheet, then a ZIP. Each person chooses one head-on and one casual headshot, and your firm receives four sizes of each.
What your firm provides
A name and an email address for each person, and your background plates in place before the first upload.
Consent recorded before anything is sent
Birdie Me stores each person's consent with the exact wording they saw, and keeps that wording even if it changes later. No photo is sent until the person has agreed.
What your firm receives
The square and head crops start from an automatic crop, and Birdie Portraits can adjust either one by hand. The full image and the web size are left as they are.
| Rendition | Size | Shape |
|---|---|---|

Questions
What are remote headshots for employees?
Headshots made from photos staff take wherever they are, checked by a photographer. The result can be an AI headshot on a chosen background, or the person's own photo on your firm's plate.
Can someone keep a photo they already have?
Yes. Birdie Me cuts the person out and places them on one of your plates. It goes through the same check and arrives in the same four sizes.
Do staff need to install an app or create an account?
No. The invitation link opens in a browser on a phone or a laptop, and it is the only thing a person needs.
Where are the photos stored?
In London, in the AWS eu-west-2 region. Files are kept only as long as they are needed to make and deliver the headshots, and anyone can ask for theirs to be deleted.
